I know I haven't posted over the last couple of months, as I have been getting my head around some other medical issues that I don't feel comfortable (just yet) to talk about publicly, but what it did prompt me to do was to see my neurologist. He sent me for my one year MRI and here are the findings:
Spine - Some patchiness around my C5 area (think lower neck) which is not active disease and hasn't changed much in the last 12 months. It may be conducive with secondary progressive, but it's too soon to make that diagnosis so not really entertaining that.
Brain - This really can't be summed up any better than what my neuro said "If I looked at this brain, not knowing it was you, I'd say this person DIDN'T have MS!"..... well can we get much better than that! Not only is there NO DISEASE ACTIVITY, any previous lesions have REGRESSED and are no longer present.
For me, this is huge, I have always been so worried about losing my ability to think and my scientific mind, and this has just given me the confidence to know that I have many years of thinking and formulating ideas and problem solving ahead of me!
All my blood results as well show everything is in order, thyroid is behaving and all my blood cells are doing what they're supposed to do.
So for now, I am all on track for my 2nd treatment in June (after my anniversary holiday to Fiji!) and I'm off to see another specialist and do some other tests in May.
Ciao!
