Don't get sick they said.

The one thing I have being trying to avoid has happened... I caught a cold. Now usually when you get a cold, it is a slow burn, you sniffle for a few days and then you start sneezing/coughing and then after a couple of days you wake up feeling like you've been hit by a Mack truck. Well not when you have lymphocytes of 0.2.

On Friday evening I started to get a sniffle, I went to bed coughing and sneezing, I woke up feeling on Saturday morning feeling like I had been hit by a freight train and by lunch I could feel it in my chest. It happened so quick, it was scary... being so aware of how bad I'm feeling and experiencing the cold take over, cell by cell is something I have never experienced before. So, needless to say I was also emotional and scared.

Thankfully I have my GP's mobile number and with one text message to her, she calls me, and organises for Nick to pick up a prescription for some antibiotics by midday on Saturday. I was then able to get them into me as quickly as the cold was taking over.

One thing I need to stress to anyone going through this treatment, make sure you are prepared in the case of an emergency, have a relationship with your doctor that will allow you to be able to do this. Oh, and perhaps try not to get sick!

Fingers crossed I get through this within the next week...
