Post days 1-3

The last couple of days have been horrible.. that's the only way I can explain it. I don't remember much of Saturday other than the headaches I experienced, they were not pleasant at all. It took time for the painkillers to kick in, and when they did I was in this limbo land of being tired and wide awake as the steroids were wearing off. Sunday however was a different story all together, I remember it vividly.... I woke up on Sunday exhausted at around 4.30am... I took some pain meds as my headache was in full swing and tried to go back to sleep. At around 7.30am the most excruciating pain in my stomach started. I found myself on the bathroom floor over the toilet, nauseous and screaming in pain. Poor Nick just didn't know what to do... I was vaguely aware what he was feeling. Nick was finally able to get me back into bed with a wheat pack after drinking loads of water. Between this time and 1.30pm all I could do was sleep, my eyes were physically incapable of staying open. I would wake up to drink (I was so dehydrated) and pee, and I would do it all with my eyes closed. Primarily because it took too much energy to open them and secondly because they hurt too much.

I managed to wake up at 1.30pm and have something to eat and then I was back in bed asleep. At 6.30pm I woke up for dinner (it's amazing how hungry I've been feeling, but I understand now that the brain fog is starting to lift - my body needed salt, it was losing too much potassium and magnesium. So I've started drinking hydrolyte as well). Last night was "Throttle Roll" - the inner west's biggest street party - which happened to be just behind my house. Ordinarily, this would have bothered me... I slept through it. The Snow Droppers could not keep me awake! I managed to sleep till 5.30am this morning which was great! This morning I woke up with the headache (again!) but my eyes are staying open!! I'm still very tired today, but I have enough energy to sit up and watch some TV.

Onwards and upwards!
