The kindness of strangers

Well, not exactly strangers, but since announcing our journey more publicly I must say I feel empowered by my friends and family who have reached out to express their well wishes and support, Mel and I truly appreciate the positive energy being sent our way by friends old and new.

It is comforting to know that despite how alone you can feel when going through something like this, just knowing that your friends are thinking of you helps in a way I couldn't have imagined.

I'm an independent person, always have been, but I haven't faced a challenge like this before. But I'm ready, with the help of our friends and family, we are ready.

So we count down the days and make the necessary arrangements for us and the kids, It's like preparing for a cyclone to hit, the news says it's the worst cyclone in 37 years and it's heading straight for us, but all you can do is wait and hope that it fizzles out before hitting the coast.

Lets just hope the perky weather girl was wrong
