WHO ARE WE

I say "we" because this journey is not just mine and not just my story to tell! More often than not, you read about the journey of the patient in one place and the journey of the partner's somewhere else... Here, you'll find it all in one place.

My name is Melinda and I am engaged (we are now married, as of 5th June 2016) to a wonderful man, Nick. Between us we have two beautiful children, Sebastien and Alannah. I was diganosed with transverse myelitis in 1997 and the diagnosis was upgraded to multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2007. For all intents and purposes, I have had MS since the beginning.

I'm not a doctor, so I am going to leave the medical explanations to the professionals. But, I will give you my experiences and my interpretations from my personal view point on this blog - specifically my journey pre-, during- and post-Lemtrada.

Nick will also be documenting his journey here, sharing what it is like to have a partner with MS and especially one going through Lemtrada. This will hopefully become a valuable resource to partners who are uncertain, scared or just want to know what may be ahead.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our journey and feel free to contact us.
